Wayne Static von Static-X verstarb am 01.11.2014. Die Todesursache ist noch unklar, erste Statements schlossen aus, dass der 48-Jährige (am 04.11.2014 wäre er 49 Jahre alt geworden) Drogen genommen habe.

Am Geburtstag des Toten meldet sich Witwe Tera Wray Static zu Wort und dementiert die anhaltenden Drogen-Gerüchte erneut.

Die Witwe betont, dass sie angewidert sei von respektlosen und negativen Gerüchten und Schlagzeilen, die Fremde über ihren verstorbenen Ehemann in die Welt setzen.

Wayne Static sei von Drogen los gekommen und habe, wenn überhaupt, Alkohol getrunken. Die Autopsie-Ergebnisse und die Todesurkunde werden dies bestätigen, verspricht Tera Wray Static.

Zugleich mache sie sich Gedanken darüber, ob alles anders gekommen wäre, wären die beiden in dieser Nacht wie ursprünglich geplant bereits zur Tour aufgebrochen, anstatt die Nacht zu hause zu verbringen. Für die Anteilnahme und die positiven Worte bedankt sie sich.

„Today is my husband’s birthday and instead of celebrating his 49th year of life, we are grieving his short 48 years.

It has come to my attention that many have questions and opinions about the cause of the death of my husband in which I now find is necessary to further respond.

Wayne was not taking drugs. If anything, he was a drinker, and did not OD.

The autopsy will be done by this weekend at the soonest. However, for some of the test results it will take up to 6 months to get the actual death certificate finalized.

I hope that the results I am given will have some insight, but they told me what I will receive this weekend will be deemed incomplete until all tests are back.

We can all have opinions as to why.

We all know that both Wayne and I had abused narcotics with alcohol in the past, which I am sure took a toll on his body, heart and soul.

We were packing to travel on tour and were to leave that night, but it was Halloween and we decided to leave in the morning with our animals.

I wish we had traveled that night then maybe had he fallen ill we could have gotten to the hospital. I will never know.

I find it disrespectful to our families and myself for negative spins that are being posted.

For Wayne’s music peers to take it upon themselves to make comments about us when they are not part of our daily lives or know us outside of tour and music, just to grab a headline to get themselves at the top of the gossip page, is disgusting.

This is not about you or what you feel is your expert opinion on people you have no relationship with, so shame on you. Do not act like we liked your band either.

Wayne was a good soul and he is gone — that is what we do know. Please show some respect to him and his memory.

Zuvor war Witwe Tera Wray Static bereits mit einem Nachruf an die Öffentlichkeit gegangen und verabschiedet sich von Wayne Static:

„Wayne went very peacefully in his sleep and probably didn’t even know that it happened (which makes me feel better that he wasn’t in pain).

It will be sometime before we know why it happened but I will keep everyone informed.

He had so much more to give the world.

As his wife, biggest fan, and worshipper, I will keep him alive and finish everything that I can that he has been working on. He will never die and I want to share everything that I can that he has to give to his fans and friends. I will try my hardest to be strong and make him proud.“

Am Wochenende verstarb Static-X-Sänger und -Gitarrist Wayne Static im Alter von nur 48 Jahren. Der US-Musiker  – bürgerlich Wayne Richard Wells – starb am 01.11.2014 bei sich zu Hause. Der Pressemitteilung zufolge soll Wayne Static friedlich entschlafen sein.

Am Morgen seines Todestages wollten Wayne Static und seine Ehefrau, Pornodarstellerin Tera Wray, zur Tour gemeinsam mit Powerman 5000 und American Head Charge aufbrechen.

Zunächst gingen Gerüchte durchs Netz, Wayne Static sei durch Drogen verstorben. Laut der Pressemitteilung, die von der Familie des Musikers herausgegeben wurde, sei Static aber seit 2009 clean – die Todesursache bleibt also noch unbekannt.

„HOLLYWOOD, CA (November 1, 2014) – Today is a sad day in the music industry – Front-man and founding member WAYNE STATIC of STATIC-X passed away quietly in his sleep at his home last night.

The couple was getting ready to leave for a Fall/Winter tour this morning. They were to have left the night before on Halloween, but decided they would head out early in the morning November 1st.

The couple, known for partying heavy, had left hard drugs in 2009 and had not touched them since. Static’s first solo album – Pighammer – was a tribute to his new non-drug life and hoped it would help others to get clean from hard chemical drugs.
