Mit weltweit mehr als 300 Millionen verkauften Platten, davon allein 111 Millionen in den USA, zählen die englischen Hard Rock-Legenden von Led Zeppelin zweifellos zu den Pionieren und Wegbereitern der harten Musik.
Nachdem sie ihre komplette Diskographie für iTunes freigegeben haben, wollen sie ihren immensen kommerziellen Erfolg nun auch auf Streaming-Portale ausweiten.
Laut der New York Times befindet sich die Band momentan in Verhandlungen mit einigen Abo-Musikanbietern wie Spotify, Rdio oder Rhapsody. Wer die exklusiven Streaming-Rechte für den Bandkatalog der Zeppeline erhält, wird sich erst noch zeigen.
“Wir freuen uns die Möglichkeit zu haben, mit Led Zeppelin zusammenarbeiten zu können, um die Streaming-Rechte für ihren Bandkatalog anzukurbeln”, gab ein Sprecher der Warner Music Group, dem langjährigen Label von Led Zeppelin, bekannt. “Wir unterstützen Gespräche zwischen der Band und den Streaming-Partnern der Warner Music Group, um eine Exklusivität zu gewährleisten, die den Effekt einer solchen Einführung maximieren soll.”
