Laut The Journal News wurde am vergangenen Samstag, dem 14.12.2013, in Yorktown in der Nähe von New York City, bei einem Feuer ein Haus von Ace Frehley beschädigt. Ace Frehley hat die Rockgruppe Kiss als Gitarrist mitgegründet. 

Die Feuerleitstelle soll einen Anruf über den Brand um 11 Uhr vormittags erhalten haben und die Feuerwehr war bis 15.30 Uhr vor Ort mit der Bekämpfung des Feuers beschäftigt. Der Brand soll laut dem Hausverwalter das Dach des Steinhauses durchdrungen haben.

Erst kürzlich hatte Frehley in einem Interview die Berichte über eine Zwangsvollstreckung des Hauses kommentiert. Demnach soll er die Zahlungen einer Hypothek mit einer Gesamthöhe von 735.000$ bereits zum 01. März 2011 eingestellt haben.

„Ich habe das Haus vor über zweieinhalb Jahren verlassen. Mein Anwalt kümmert sich darum. Es gibt keine Zwangsvollstreckung. Die Dinge sind aus dem Zusammenhang gerissen. Irgendjemand hat sich nicht um das gekümmert, um was er sich kümmern sollte. Und mein Anwalt tut das jetzt.

Aber, im Grunde bin ich jetzt in Kalifornien und es gibt Leute, die jetzt dort wohnen, darauf aufpassen. Und die haben es Leuten gezeigt, die eventuell Interesse daran haben, es zu kaufen. Und die ganze Sache war nur ein Missverständnis.“

Frehley wurde die Immobilie 2004 von der Firma Jendell Productions übertragen, die das Haus im November 2000 für 650.000$ gekauft hatte. Jendell ist der Name des fiktiven Heimatplaneten von Frehleys außerirdischem ‘Spaceman’-Bühnencharakter. Auf die Frage, ob es ihm nun in Kalifornien gefalle:

„Ich habe mein ganzes Leben in New York gelebt. Viel Leute kamen nach Kalifornien und sagten ‘Hey, was machst du denn? Du bist ein Verräter!’. Aber seit ich hier bin, sehe ich mich nicht zurückkommen. Ich mag das Klima. Ich könnte die Winter nicht mehr ertragen. Wenn man mal die 60 überschritten hat ist es wie…hol mich hier raus!“
